Applications are invited for PhD/Post-doctoral positions in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
Requirements
Requirements for PhD applicants:

Bachelor degree in any field of Engineering/Applied Mathematics/Physics.

Have a strong academic background in mathematics and/or physics
(possession of a Master’s degree is not a must). -
Excel academically with proven record.
Requirements for Post-doctoral Fellows:
-
PhD degree in any Engineering field (Civil and Mechanical Engineering are preferred); Mathematics or Physics; Acoustic (Including ocean acoustics).

Have strong analytical skills in at least one the following areas: acoustics, fluid mechanics, inverse theory, flow stability, computational fluid mechanics, and/or fluid-structure interaction; signal processing; optimization.
Funding
For Post-doctoral Fellow, starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. An initial one-year contract will be offered with further employment subject to funding availability and job performance. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract.
